Dr. William Ruffin earned his undergraduate degree at Auburn University Montgomery and his Master of Education (M.Ed.) at Auburn University. He completed his medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama and completed his residency at University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

He is board eligible by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He has been in practice at East Alabama Ear, Nose and Throat, P.C. since 2024. He is on active medical staff at East Alabama Medical Center.
